Camps That Transform: The Emotional and Social Impact of Experiencing Camp Santa Úrsula

Introduction: More Than a Camp, a Transformational Experience

For many parents, enrolling their children in a summer camp is a way to offer them fun during the holidays. But those who have experienced Camp Santa Úrsula know it goes far beyond that. This camp has become an emotional and formative experience that leaves a lasting impact.

Over the years, Camp Santa Úrsula has been the space where children and teens discover their independence, develop social skills, build confidence, and, most importantly, feel part of an authentic community. It is a place where fun turns into growth, where every activity is designed to teach something beyond the obvious.

What Makes Camp Santa Úrsula Different?

Unlike other camps that focus solely on recreational activities, Camp Santa Úrsula has designed a comprehensive program that balances play, emotional learning, and social development. From the first welcome to the closing ceremony, everything has an educational and human purpose.

Its main differentiators include:

  • A trained staff with a psycho-pedagogical and emotional approach.
  • Activities that promote leadership, empathy, creativity, and teamwork.
  • Top-level safety and emotional well-being protocols.
  • A natural environment that inspires and relaxes, helping children reconnect with nature.
  • Age-appropriate formative workshops with dynamics that foster autonomy and resilience.

This holistic approach has led hundreds of families to trust the camp year after year as an emotional investment in their children. It is a space that genuinely accompanies their growth.

Emotions Are Also Educated

Many parents don't realize how important it is for children to learn to manage their emotions from an early age. At Camp Santa Úrsula, activities are designed to help campers:

  • Recognize and express what they feel.
  • Resolve conflicts constructively.
  • Build healthy and lasting relationships.
  • Feel valued both as individuals and as part of a group.

This translates into young people with greater emotional intelligence, leadership capacity, empathy, and tolerance. It is not uncommon for parents and teachers to notice a positive evolution after the camp experience.

The Importance of a Digital Narrative Aligned with the Essence

To convey all this emotional richness, the camp's digital presence must also reflect its essence. From the website to social media, every point of contact must speak the same language: closeness, trust, authenticity.

This is where having expert allies becomes key. In collaboration with the team that developed Santa Úrsula’s digital platform, the camp has successfully captured its spirit across all communication channels.

The result is an intuitive, clear website with messages that emotionally connect with parents and spark curiosity among children. You can see examples of such educational experience-driven developments in this digital projects section.

Additionally, the narrative is complemented with useful content such as blogs, guides for first-time parents, recommendations on children's emotional health, and testimonial videos. Everything is designed to build an informed and enthusiastic community.

Activities that Create Impact Beyond the Summer

Activities are purposefully designed. Some of the most emblematic include:

  • Team challenges: teaching leadership and cooperation under pressure.
  • Silence journeys: helping campers connect with themselves and practice introspection.
  • Creative workshops: awakening new passions and reinforcing self-expression.
  • Talking circles: teaching respectful speaking and listening, sharing emotions openly.
  • Nature exploration: fostering environmental care and observational skills.
  • Thematic days: developing social skills through play and collective creativity.

All this takes place in an environment where children feel safe, accepted, and encouraged to be the best version of themselves.

Impact on Families

One of the aspects most valued by parents is the impact Camp Santa Úrsula has on family dynamics. After returning from camp, children often display:

  • Greater independence and autonomy.
  • Increased self-confidence and decision-making skills.
  • Better interpersonal conflict resolution.
  • New openness in talking about their emotions.
  • Collaborative attitudes within the home.

Many parents say it’s like seeing a more mature, empathetic, and joyful version of their child in just a few weeks. These emotional changes are evidence of a comprehensive growth process.

Frequently Asked Questions about the camp

We answer all your questions!

What is the age range for children to sign up for camp?

In the Camps we only welcome boys and girls from 7 to 15 years of age.

Who takes care of the children?

The children are cared for by an instructor and an assistant, together with instructors specialized in various activities and camp managers who are on the lookout for all campers.

If my child goes with a friend can they be together?

Yes, as long as the children are the same age and both they and the parents agree. Although we can't commit to more than 3 campers on the same team.

Do the rooms or cabins have their own bathrooms?

The vast majority of rooms or cabins have their own bathroom.

Do you help young children bathe and dress?

No, we ask that you consider that children should be independent in activities such as bathing, dressing, combing their hair, going to the bathroom and taking care of their things. Instructors are waiting, but cannot take care of each child individually.

How is communication with children? Can we talk to them?

Calls are not allowed. The communication is through messages on the camp page, delivered daily at breakfast time or the first activity in the morning. Children respond to these messages in letters that are taken photos and sent to the parents' emails.

If my child is carrying medications, how do they manage them?

We have medical staff who administer medications. Parents should write down the information in the registry and hand in medications when leaving their children at the camp.

What do you do in case of an accident? Do they warn us?

The protocols are followed. In case of minor injuries, there is no warning so as not to worry parents. There's a paramedic in the camp. In more serious cases, parents are contacted before taking the child to the hospital.

Do you have any health insurance?

Yes, we have accident insurance that covers up to $150,000.00.

How safe is the camp? Do you have any systems in place?

The camp is safe, with measures such as electric fences, closed circuit television, among others.
