La Isla Conejo Intercolegial: The Leadership Program Redefining School Identity in Mexico

La Isla Conejo Intercolegial is a high-impact growth platform designed to forge leaders during their critical adolescent years. As a specialized program for junior high students, it moves beyond traditional competition to teach the true value of conscious leadership, the emotional power of protecting one's community, and the pride of representing a school's identity through action and teamwork.

In the complex landscape of adolescence, leadership is not something that can be mastered through a lecture or a textbook. It is a quality that is lived while defending something you love. At La Isla Conejo, students from across Mexico gather to represent their institutions with passion and commitment, transforming their peer groups into cohesive, supportive communities that protect and strengthen one another.

A Growth Island: Where Identity Meets Action

There are experiences that simply entertain, and then there are experiences that transform. La Isla Conejo Intercolegial falls firmly into the latter. Based on the proven educational philosophy of Camp Santa Úrsula, this program is structured to provide students with meaningful tools for life and personal development.

The Power of School Identity

For many students, their school is just a name on a uniform. La Isla Conejo changes that. By participating in strategic dynamics and intercollegiate challenges, students begin to view their school as a shared identity—one that is honored through attitude, respect, and hard work. This shift from "attending a school" to "belonging to a community" is a fundamental driver of academic success and social harmony.

Defense as a Leadership Tool

One of the unique aspects of this program is its focus on "protection." We teach that a true leader is the one who guards their team, their community, and their values. In an era where social dynamics can be fractured, learning to defend your teammates and your school’s honor through positive actions creates a bond that survives long after the event ends.

Beyond the Competition: Building a Better Mexico

While the spirit of competition is present, the ultimate goal of La Isla Conejo Intercolegial is to foster a healthy, positive environment for growth. It is the result of a unified effort between the educational community of San Luis Potosí and other major cities across the Republic. We are not just building winners; we are building citizens with character, vision, and a deep sense of responsibility.

Leadership in the Digital Age

In 2026, adolescents face unprecedented challenges regarding attention, mental health, and social pressure. This "Growth Island" provides a necessary reset. Through outdoor challenges and real-world problem-solving, students develop soft skills that are often neglected in traditional classrooms:

  • Effective Communication: Learning to listen and speak with clarity under pressure.
  • Decision Making: Evaluating risks and rewards in a high-stakes, safe environment.
  • Resilience: Understanding that setbacks are merely data points on the road to success.

The Three Pillars of the Intercollegiate Experience

To ensure a lasting impact, our methodology focuses on three core pillars that every participant takes home to their respective schools.

1. Learning to Lead

Leadership at La Isla Conejo is about service. We strip away the ego-driven definitions of being "in charge" and replace them with the responsibility of guidance. Students learn that their influence as leaders is measured by the growth of those around them. This is a core part of our staff training philosophy, which we extend to these young participants.

2. Learning to Protect

Protection is the highest form of leadership. By teaching students to look out for their peers, we address issues like bullying and social exclusion at their root. A student who learns to protect their team on the field will return to their school as an ambassador for safety and respect.

3. Learning to Belong

Belonging is a human necessity. When a teenager feels they truly belong to their school, their commitment to their studies and their peers increases exponentially. We celebrate the unique colors and history of every participating school, making the "Intercolegial" a vibrant celebration of diversity and shared purpose.

The Educational Community: A Safe Haven for Growth

We understand that parents and educators prioritize safety above all else. La Isla Conejo Intercolegial is managed by a highly qualified team committed to the holistic formation of every student. Our environment is designed to be positive, healthy, and significantly fun, ensuring that every challenge is an opportunity for a "win" in personal development.

Impact on School Climate

Schools that participate in our programs consistently report a more unified student body. The experiences lived here act as a "social glue," bridging gaps between different social circles within the school. This is why many institutions consider La Isla Conejo an essential part of their annual extracurricular calendar.

Professional Logistics for Schools

For school directors and administrators, we offer a seamless logistics experience. From transportation coordination to specialized nutrition plans for active teens, our team handles the heavy lifting so that the focus remains on the students' growth. You can learn more about our track record in our about us section.

Character, Identity, and Vision: The Path Forward

The goal of creating a better Mexico starts with the youth. By fostering character, identity, and a clear vision in junior high students, we are preparing the next generation of professionals and leaders. La Isla Conejo Intercolegial is more than an event; it is a movement that strengthens communities and leaves a lasting mark on every student who chooses to stand tall and defend their school with pride.

In this island of growth, students find that their potential is far greater than they imagined. They return home not just with stories of adventure, but with a renewed sense of purpose. They are no longer just students; they are the protectors of their community’s future.

Frequently Asked Questions about the camp

We answer all your questions!

What is the age range for children to sign up for camp?

In the Camps we only welcome boys and girls from 7 to 15 years of age.

Who takes care of the children?

The children are cared for by an instructor and an assistant, together with instructors specialized in various activities and camp managers who are on the lookout for all campers.

If my child goes with a friend can they be together?

Yes, as long as the children are the same age and both they and the parents agree. Although we can't commit to more than 3 campers on the same team.

Do the rooms or cabins have their own bathrooms?

The vast majority of rooms or cabins have their own bathroom.

Do you help young children bathe and dress?

No, we ask that you consider that children should be independent in activities such as bathing, dressing, combing their hair, going to the bathroom and taking care of their things. Instructors are waiting, but cannot take care of each child individually.

How is communication with children? Can we talk to them?

Calls are not allowed. The communication is through messages on the camp page, delivered daily at breakfast time or the first activity in the morning. Children respond to these messages in letters that are taken photos and sent to the parents' emails.

If my child is carrying medications, how do they manage them?

We have medical staff who administer medications. Parents should write down the information in the registry and hand in medications when leaving their children at the camp.

What do you do in case of an accident? Do they warn us?

The protocols are followed. In case of minor injuries, there is no warning so as not to worry parents. There's a paramedic in the camp. In more serious cases, parents are contacted before taking the child to the hospital.

Do you have any health insurance?

Yes, we have accident insurance that covers up to $150,000.00.

How safe is the camp? Do you have any systems in place?
