Outdoor Activities That Strengthen Body, Mind, and Emotions

Discover the transformative power of nature in summer camps.

When we talk about an ideal summer camp in Mexico, one of the most valued aspects is its ability to offer meaningful outdoor activities. These experiences go beyond fun: they build confidence, improve health, strengthen emotional intelligence, and help kids and teens discover who they really are.

At Camp Santa Úrsula, our program of outdoor experiences is designed to nourish the body, expand the mind, and enrich the spirit. It’s a place where every challenge becomes a tool for growth and every landscape a classroom.

The physical benefits of outdoor adventure

A summer camp with outdoor activities isn't just about burning energy—it’s about building strength, agility, coordination, and health in a natural and engaging way.

Our campers enjoy:

  • Supervised climbing and rappelling, which boost balance and confidence.
  • Go-karts and motor sports, combining fun with focus and motor skills.
  • Aquatic activities for kids, like swimming, water games, and obstacle challenges in the pool.
  • Sports fields, hiking, and dynamic team games that develop endurance.

Unlike screen-based environments, these real-life physical experiences promote posture, cardiovascular health, and restful sleep. And thanks to our top-tier facilities and 24/7 security and supervision, families can feel completely at ease.

Strengthening emotional and social skills

Outdoor environments promote emotional development in ways that indoor or academic contexts often can’t. In nature, there are fewer distractions and more room to feel, observe, and connect.

In our camp, children and teens:

  • Experience moments of uncertainty or difficulty, like reaching the top of a rock wall—then feel the pride of overcoming them.
  • Share victories and defeats with their teammates, learning about empathy and leadership.
  • Navigate new friendships and group challenges, reinforcing cooperation and teamwork.

These moments plant the seeds of autonomy, communication, and self-esteem. It’s no coincidence that many campers return home feeling more confident, emotionally regulated, and socially connected.

Mind-expanding experiences in nature

Being outdoors doesn’t only benefit the body. It also opens the mind to creativity, reflection, and learning. Campers at Camp Santa Úrsula participate in:

  • Creative and experiential workshops that allow them to express themselves and explore new interests.
  • Environmental education activities, such as nature walks, ecological games, and sustainability projects that foster awareness.
  • Nighttime adventures, including bonfires, storytelling under the stars, and group dynamics that awaken imagination and internal calm.

This combination of outdoor learning and nature immersion helps integrate new knowledge, habits, and emotional resilience in everyday life.

A summer that transforms

Each of our outdoor experiences is part of a broader approach focused on personal development. We’re a camp with a values-based approach, where every game is an opportunity to strengthen character and every challenge contributes to self-knowledge.

We’re proud to offer:

  • A camp with international experience and global references.
  • A structured program of emotional development and leadership.
  • A focus on empathy, sustainability, and community life.
  • Personalized guidance and psychological support for every camper.

We are not just a camp for children and teens—we’re a space for growth, inspiration, and discovery. Learn more about our summer programs, our school camps, and our offerings for families and companies.

Frequently Asked Questions about the camp

We answer all your questions!

What is the age range for children to sign up for camp?

In the Camps we only welcome boys and girls from 7 to 15 years of age.

Who takes care of the children?

The children are cared for by an instructor and an assistant, together with instructors specialized in various activities and camp managers who are on the lookout for all campers.

If my child goes with a friend can they be together?

Yes, as long as the children are the same age and both they and the parents agree. Although we can't commit to more than 3 campers on the same team.

Do the rooms or cabins have their own bathrooms?

The vast majority of rooms or cabins have their own bathroom.

Do you help young children bathe and dress?

No, we ask that you consider that children should be independent in activities such as bathing, dressing, combing their hair, going to the bathroom and taking care of their things. Instructors are waiting, but cannot take care of each child individually.

How is communication with children? Can we talk to them?

Calls are not allowed. The communication is through messages on the camp page, delivered daily at breakfast time or the first activity in the morning. Children respond to these messages in letters that are taken photos and sent to the parents' emails.

If my child is carrying medications, how do they manage them?

We have medical staff who administer medications. Parents should write down the information in the registry and hand in medications when leaving their children at the camp.

What do you do in case of an accident? Do they warn us?

The protocols are followed. In case of minor injuries, there is no warning so as not to worry parents. There's a paramedic in the camp. In more serious cases, parents are contacted before taking the child to the hospital.

Do you have any health insurance?

Yes, we have accident insurance that covers up to $150,000.00.

How safe is the camp? Do you have any systems in place?

The camp is safe, with measures such as electric fences, closed circuit television, among others.
