What your child gains when he puts down his cell phone for a few days

Turn Off the Phone… and Turn On Life: The Transformative Power of an Unplugged Summer Camp

In an age of screens, constant notifications, and hyperconnectivity, finding a space where children and teens can truly disconnect from the digital world is more important than ever. That’s why Camp Santa Úrsula has become the leading summer camp in Mexico, offering a much-needed digital detox. Here, far from phones and Wi-Fi, your child doesn’t just have fun — they transform.

The Real Impact of Disconnecting from Digital Life

Every summer, in our camp in San Luis Potosí, hundreds of campers rediscover what it means to be fully present. Away from social media, filters, and video games, children and teenagers reconnect with what truly matters: nature, meaningful friendships, and the chance to grow from within.

At this values-based camp, kids wake up surrounded by trees and mountains, engage in morning hikes, team games, and creative activities that nurture leadership and empathy. Without the distraction of screens, they experience deeper focus, self-confidence, and authentic face-to-face communication.

More Than Fun: Experiences That Shape Character

Camp Santa Úrsula is more than just a place to spend the summer — it’s a personal development camp where each activity is designed to spark curiosity, independence, and self-esteem. Through outdoor activities like supervised rock climbing and rappelling, adventure courses, nighttime games, and team challenges, campers not only have fun — they grow.

We also offer a robust program of creative and experiential workshops, plus unique activities such as go-karts and motor sports, combining adrenaline, safety, and collaboration.

24/7 Supervision and Safety

As a camp with round-the-clock supervision, our top priority is creating a trustworthy environment where parents can feel at ease. Our trained staff monitors all activities, and our first-class facilities meet the highest standards for safety, hygiene, and well-being.

Even meals are part of the experience — our balanced nutrition program is designed to provide variety, nourishment, and energy, tailored to the needs of every age group.

No Wi-Fi, But Full of Connection

What does your child gain from going a few days without their phone? Time, presence, and unforgettable memories. At Camp Santa Úrsula, Wi-Fi is traded for something far more powerful: the pride of conquering a challenge, the joy of late-night laughter by the campfire, the spark of a new friendship, or dancing under the stars.

This intentional disconnection strengthens environmental awareness and sustainability, active listening, leadership, and inner confidence that will extend far beyond camp. Campers learn to express themselves without keyboards, resolve issues without filters, and grow without constant comparison.

A Complete Program for Every Need

Beyond summer, Camp Santa Úrsula offers a range of tailored experiences:

Each experience — whether for children, teens, or adults — carries the same spirit of adventure and personal development.

Activities That Inspire Growth

  • Water activities for kids
  • Extreme adventure for teens
  • Evening and night-time programs
  • Leadership and empathy-focused challenges
  • Emotional development workshops
  • Collaborative teamwork experiences

Each activity is an opportunity to try something new, to fail and try again, to uncover talents that may get lost in day-to-day digital routines.

Gifts That Can’t Be Wrapped — But Last Forever

When your child returns home, they’ll bring more than a backpack full of clothes and a phone full of photos. They’ll come back with real stories, personal triumphs, new friendships, and a stronger sense of self. What happens at Camp Santa Úrsula isn’t stored in the cloud — it’s kept in the heart and in memory.

Frequently Asked Questions about the camp

We answer all your questions!

What is the age range for children to sign up for camp?

In the Camps we only welcome boys and girls from 7 to 15 years of age.

Who takes care of the children?

The children are cared for by an instructor and an assistant, together with instructors specialized in various activities and camp managers who are on the lookout for all campers.

If my child goes with a friend can they be together?

Yes, as long as the children are the same age and both they and the parents agree. Although we can't commit to more than 3 campers on the same team.

Do the rooms or cabins have their own bathrooms?

The vast majority of rooms or cabins have their own bathroom.

Do you help young children bathe and dress?

No, we ask that you consider that children should be independent in activities such as bathing, dressing, combing their hair, going to the bathroom and taking care of their things. Instructors are waiting, but cannot take care of each child individually.

How is communication with children? Can we talk to them?

Calls are not allowed. The communication is through messages on the camp page, delivered daily at breakfast time or the first activity in the morning. Children respond to these messages in letters that are taken photos and sent to the parents' emails.

If my child is carrying medications, how do they manage them?

We have medical staff who administer medications. Parents should write down the information in the registry and hand in medications when leaving their children at the camp.

What do you do in case of an accident? Do they warn us?

The protocols are followed. In case of minor injuries, there is no warning so as not to worry parents. There's a paramedic in the camp. In more serious cases, parents are contacted before taking the child to the hospital.

Do you have any health insurance?

Yes, we have accident insurance that covers up to $150,000.00.

How safe is the camp? Do you have any systems in place?

The camp is safe, with measures such as electric fences, closed circuit television, among others.

What are the foods like? Can you briefly describe what they eat?

  • Breakfast: Fruits, juices, smoothies, milk, cereal, eggs, beans, chilaquiles, waffles, hot cakes, sweet bread.
  • Food: Salads, vegetables, soup, cream, chicken, fish, beef or pork, flavored waters and dessert.
  • Dinner: Salad, cereal, sweet bread, pizzas, club sandwiches, muffins, milk, flavored water, tacos.
